As Copenhagen Fashion Week (Autumn/Winter 2017 AW17) kicks off Copenhagen Fashion Festival this year proves to be yet another ‘don’t miss’ event. The event is biannual and open to all visitors - just check the site for tickets. It’s the biggest in Northern Europe and a great place for visitors and professionals to check out what and who are the next big things. This is a week not to be missed by any aspiring fashionistas!

Copenhagen Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2017 Events
The opening lunch is at the City Hall Tuesday 31st January followed by a string of shows and events at various sites around town from the Forum to the Hotel D’Angleterre. The opening event is ‘The New Norwegian Way’ on Tuesday and there are two awesome breakfast meet ups on the Wednesday 1st February - the Tommy Hilfiger Breakfast and Meet the Danes. This year it’s all ethical!
All the brands taking party in CPFW17 have signed the Danish fashion ethical charter which means they all aim to promote a healthy ideal of beauty and body - a large responsibility for the fashion industry.
Fashion Week Highlights
Highlights of the show this year include ‘Meet the Designers of Fashion Hong Kong’ on the Wednesday, Laerke Andersen Feat. Molina on the Thursday, IKON KØPENHAVN, Preview for BRØGGER AW17,The Jewellery Room event on Friday 3rd at the Kunsthal, and the big party: CÎROC FASHION CELEBRATION on the closing Saturday. Copenhagen Fashion Week is holding their opening press launch in City Hall Square. That means that you don’t need to be a VIP to attend. Anyone who wants to hear what’s going on can turn up in the square and find out. They will be using giant screens to show the latest runway collections so we can all get to see them!
If the actual shows are not your thing then check out the alternative events away from the runway - there are of course parties to attend, exhibitions, shopping events and there will be some live music and DJ events taking place - including street parties.
Fashion TV
ALL THE SHOWS ARE LIVE ON FASHION TV! Yes, you can go to the City Square and watch all the shows on a giant screen. All the runway shows are going to be uploaded and shown here, so the public can watch them - for free! Great idea!
