The Best Thing about Staying in a Hostel is....

What’s the best thing about staying in a hostel? We asked our expert backpackers - our super star staff! Here's what they had to say...

Alba says...

"There are many great things that you can experience when staying in a hostel: learning how to share your space with others, adapting yourself to any kind of situation - be it someone snoring like hell on the room or an intense feet smell that spreads all over the room! But best of all is socializing with people from all over the globe, sharing different cultures, breaking stereotypes, becoming more open. I could keep on and on, but the best way to realize is just to jump the edge and start travelling!”  Thanks Alba — we agree!

Elma says...

"There are many advantages staying in a hostel. Hostel life is so much different from how we live at home. I think the best thing about staying in a hostel is that you can meet so many different nationalities, make new friends and get the priceless experience by consequently getting involved in newer things. Staying in a hostel is impossible when we don’t interact and get along with others."

Eduardo says...

"It ́s definitely the best way to travel. Through a hostel you meet other backpackers and travellers like you. You are somehow “forced” to socialize to get the best out of the experience :) once you break the ice, it goes with the flow. People inviting people, making new friends, discovering places and activities you wouldn ́t know if not sharing stories with new travellers. And last but not least, you have a chance to meet people from all over the world.”

Zoe says…

“Hostels are all about community, meeting new people, sharing experiences, having fun. Staying somewhere where you can make new friends from all walks of life and from all over the world is a completely unique experience - I love it! Whenever I take a trip somewhere it’s not just about being a tourist and seeing a new place, it’s about meeting people and sharing experiences. You never forget the people you meet when traveling and they become part of your experience (usually a good part!) and I’ve made friends for life from people I have met all over the world. When a hostel has a good atmosphere and a friendly vibe, then you are bound to meet interesting people and have a great experience.”

Filippo says...

"The most relevant thing is that you are facing different realities. Staying in a hostel you will meet a lot of people from many different countries, and each one of them has a particular story to tell. You will have the chance to explore different perspectives and lifestyles, and this usually happens in a very nice contest, where all the people are having fun together and getting to know each other, at least if the hostel has a common area for the guests."

Thanks guys for your expert advice!
