Meet our Staff it's Edoardo
Edoardo is our favourite musical barman and receptionist, with his talents including singing and playing the piano! He's been living in Copenhagen 7 years now so knows the city so don't be afraid to ask him where the cool spots are over a drink in the bar. He's studying Event Planning and is our musical star staff!
So Edoardo - are you a backpacker at heart?
"YES!! I have been travelling since I was 14 - I always choose hostels when I backpack - the most impressive & rewarding experience as a backpacker was when I travelled for 5 weeks all around Thailand, from the North in Chang Mai, Bangkok and surroundings to the southern islands :)"
What do you think the best experience is in Copenhagen for tourists?
"I have been living in Copenhagen for 7 years, I honestly could list millions of things. The must-do for tourists though are definitely Christiania, the lakes, Tivoli, Frederiksberg gardens or generally just picking up a bike and lose yourself in Nørrebro or Vesterbro"

What is your favorite neighborhood in Copenhagen and why?
"Nørrebro! That´s where the locals go, that´s where Copenhagen is blossoming the most. Vesterbro is wonderful too, but it´s more established by now. Again, Copenhagen is magnificient no matter where. I love Nørrebro because is more hectic and alive than other neighborhoods."

What’s the best thing about living in Copenhagen?
"I have been living in Copenhagen for 7 years. But it keeps on surprising me. I know the city so well by now, my conclusion is that the best thing about living here it the illusion of being in a small city, yet having millions things to do. Copenhagen is magical!"
What do you think is the best bar & cafe in Copenhagen?
"My favourites are the bar at our hostel, great location. Or Cafe Retro, Paludan Cafe, Tjili Pop is one of my fav, cool restaurants are umami, Madklubben"
What drink do you recommend in Happy Hour at Copenhagen Downtown?
"Heheh - definitely the 1 litre beer - it´s a great deal, and the 1 litre cup is impressive, kinda makes you want it in your hand even just for the looks, Tuborg Classic of course.. "
What do you think the best thing about staying in a hostel is?
It´s definitely the best way to travel. Through a hostel you meet other backpackers and travellers like you. You are somehow “forced” to socialize to get the best out of the experience :) once you break the ice, it goes with the flow. People inviting people, making new friends, discovering places and activities you couldn't know if not sharing stories with new travellers. And last but not least, you have a chance to meet people from all over the world."
What was your best hostel experience?
I guess realizing that you gathered up people you didn't know and at the end of your stay realize they are now some of your best friends, that you can keep visiting around the globe.
Why should people visit Copenhagen?
For the laid back approach. People are happy here because they have time to do what they like, reach places without making too much effort. Services work and people can realize their dreams.
What’s the best thing about working at Copenhagen Downtown?
"The place is extremely cozy! The bar and lounge area makes this place so unique, that it's impossible not to feel at home or dare to talk to someone. I have visited hundreds of hostels, but the way this hostel brings people together is incredible. So working here and witnessing all these friendships taking place is marvellous. My team and managers are great, thus feeling like a family it´s easy and natural. I am sure the location and the down to earth attitude of the place makes the trick"
What’s do you think is the best thing for guests staying at Copenhagen Downtown?
"The atmosphere, the bar, the location, the team we have, the easy going attitude absolutely - honestly, the whole package works!"
