Discover Copenhagen's Food Markets

Copenhagen is famous for its Nordic cuisine, and if visiting Noma restaurant isn't in your budget, then you will be happy to hear that the city has several fantastic food markets where you can savour local and international flavours. Whether you're looking for locally sourced products and seasonal recipes or have a need for tacos or Thai food - you can find it in Copenhagen's food markets. From the famous Street Food Market in Reffen to the local produce at Torvehallene - we have plenty of places for you to try. Prepare yourself for a taste sensation in the culinary capital of Denmark...

Reffen Food Market

The largest street food market in the Nordics - Reffen is where it’s at in summer in Copenhagen - live music, concerts, DJS, art and music festivals, and of course - Food! There are so many food trucks here that you would need multiple visits to try everything. This summer there is a whole programme of live music and concerts - with the party going on until 1am at the weekends. The perfect place to spend a warm summer's evening.

With the bars open from 11am to 11pm, and 1am at the weekends, you have all day and night to enjoy the vibe here. Coffee starts at 10.30, food at 11.30 until 9.30pm. It’s family friendly and everyone is welcome, just bring your apetite!

Reffen is Copenhagen’s ultimate collision of creativity, sustainability, and global street food. Set against a backdrop of shipyards and docks, it embraces an industrial port vibe—think upcycled shipping containers, old fire trucks, and vintage vans turned into vibrant food stalls. Every container kitchen reflects the flavors and culture of a different country, creating an open-air food village that feels both international and authentic.

With more than 75 reused containers and quirky structures scattered across the waterfront, Reffen is like a little food village with streets and sunny hangout spots, and non-stop smells that will have you eating your way around the world right here in Copenhagen!

Broens Gadekøkken - The Bridge Street Kitchen

Copenhagen Street Food Paper Island (Papirøen) may have gone (RIP!) but it’s now re-invented itself as Broens Gadekøkken - The Bridge Street Kitchen. This harborside hotspot has transformed into a food paradise offering a mix of affordable global street eats and local Nordic flavors.

Set along the inner harbor near the Inderhavnsbroen (Inner Harbor Bridge), the area offers outdoor seating with panoramic views of the water, perfect for soaking in Copenhagen’s summer evenings. Grab a Korean bao, tacos, or a craft burger, then find a sun-drenched table to enjoy your meal while DJs or live bands often perform nearby.

Set right along the waterfront between Nyhavn and Christianshavn, this buzzing food hub is perfect for grabbing a bite with friends, catching the sun, and soaking in the harbor atmosphere. From juicy burgers at Gasoline Grill to Latin-Asian fusion plates from Lola Impact and fresh vegan wraps from Organic Boho, the variety of food trucks and stalls make it easy to find something exciting (and affordable) to eat. Prices are friendly too, especially compared to sit-down spots, with most meals landing between 75–120 DKK.

The setup is simple but it works fine for us! There are communal wooden tables, string fairy lights overhead, DJs or live music on weekends, and a backdrop of boats drifting by. They have everything here from yoga to craft beer, so all you need to do is turn up! Broens is a great spot to hang out before heading to Freetown Christiania, or as a chill alternative to the more touristy waterfront restaurants nearby. It’s a very chilled place to while away some time soaking up the atmosphere, views, and good vibes.

Torvahallerne Food Hall

Discover Torvehallerne: Copenhagen’s Premier Food Market Experience! Located near Nørreport Station, Torvehallerne is a bustling indoor food market that draws over 115,000 locals every week. Spread across two modern glass halls and a lively outdoor plaza, it’s the perfect place to explore fresh Danish produce, global cuisines, and artisan products—all under one roof.

With more than 60 unique stalls, the market offers a delicious mix of local and organic foods, including cheeses, meats, pastries, sushi, tapas, and even picnic-ready bites. It's also a hotspot for foodie events and summer gatherings, making it an essential stop for any visit to Copenhagen.

From the legendary Coffee Collective to Albatross & Friends bakery, you’ll find everything from expertly brewed coffee to warm, flaky pastries. Want something international? Try Tapa del Toro for Spanish tapas made with Danish seafood, or indulge in French flavors at Ma Poule, known for its duck confit sandwich and fine wines.

Bornholmer Butikken brings you regional delights from the island of Bornholm, while La Boca offers Argentina’s best empanadas, fresh salads, and more. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or relaxing at the outdoor seating surrounded by flowers and live music, Torvehallerne is a sensory experience you won’t want to miss.

Open daily:

  • Monday to Friday: 10:00–19:00
  • Weekends: 10:00–18:00
