Autumn is here and we are getting hygge, enjoying the leaves changing colour, and waiting for Halloween!

Coming up this Autumn… vintage markets, Culture Night, Art Exhibitions, Film Festivals, and Halloween! And of course our fright night party here at Copenhagen Downtown. There is plenty happening this season - whether you are getting cosy for the autumn vibes or still enjoying the end of summer. Take a look at what’s happening in Copenhagen this October.

This month there is plenty going on in Copenhagen! Autumn has arrived in Copenhagen, and the city is buzzing with seasonal excitement! This October, there’s something for everyone, from the vibrant vintage stalls at Veras Market to the dazzling art exhibitions at Louisiana Museum and Carlsberg Glyptoteket. Culture lovers can immerse themselves in Kulturnatten’s night of galleries, concerts, and secret events, while film enthusiasts can celebrate 40 years of queer cinema at the MIX LGBTQIA+ Film Festival. And of course, Halloween is in full swing at Tivoli Gardens, where glowing pumpkins, festive treats, and family-friendly activities bring the spooky season to life. With so much happening, Copenhagen offers the perfect mix of culture, creativity, and cosy autumn vibes this month.

Kulturnatten! (Culture Night)
10th October 2025

Friday 10th October sees the biggest culture night of the year as public cultural spaces open for the evening to take part in Culture Night. Expect galleries, concerts, art, museums, and secret events! Some of the unusual highlights include Nyhavn’s Open Ship where you can step onboard, concerts in Trinitatis Church, DJs and dancing at the Cisternerne gallery, and an evening of surrealism at SMK Gallery. Veras Vintage Clothes Market under Buen
Every Sunday from 10am to 3pm

Who doesn’t love shopping for a bargain? Maybe you can find some preloved designer gear, or pick up some winter essentials - this vintage market has a little bit of everything. Every Sunday, Copenhagen’s covered parking lot transforms into a vibrant thrift fashion mecca. Hunt through countless private stalls overflowing with second-hand treasures, and don’t miss Veras’ own stand, where everything costs just 40 DKK or 4 items for 100 DKK. You can even use swap points to shop sustainably.

Since 2016, Veras Market has been Copenhagen’s go-to weekly thrift clothing market for both women and men. It’s all about great style, good vibes, and sustainability — attracting Denmark’s coolest sellers and regular flea-market lovers who buy and sell pre-loved fashion to benefit both the planet and their wallets.

Expect good music, great deals, and a buzzing Sunday atmosphere every week from 10 AM to 3 PM, no matter the weather — the market is fully covered under Buen, so you’ll stay dry even if it rains or snows. Take cash to bargain! If you’re looking for a stall check on their website to book one.

MIX LGBTQIA+ Film Festival: 40th Anniversary Edition
24th October to 4th November
40 Years of “Queer” Cinema

One of the oldest LGBTQIA+ festivals in the world, MIX CPH is a non-profit festival run by volunteers and dedicated to showcasing films that create a positive conversation around LGTBQIA+ themes, issues, and experiences. It’s a celebration and designed to foster dialogue, inclusion, and community.

Halloween at Tivoli Gardens


Always the best decorations in Copenhagen and filled with an insane amount of pumpkins, Tivoli Gardens is the best place to get into the autumn vibes. Tivoli turns into a Halloween wonderland filled with glowing pumpkins, spooky decorations, and festive fun for all ages. Stroll through paths lined with over 20,000 pumpkins, spider webs, and scarecrows, and enjoy delicious seasonal treats from Tivoli’s many food stalls and restaurants. Kids can join in the magic with pumpkin carving, potion-making, and playful shows like Rasmus Klump’s Halloween performance. You can buy packages like the “Scary House Combo” for access to special haunted attractions within Tivoli. Halloween here is a must-see autumn adventure in Copenhagen!




Autumn Art & Museum Shows


Gauguin & Kihara: First Impressions at the Carlsberg Glyptoteket

With an existing permanent collection featuring the work of Gauguin, this exhibition includes 58 pieces of the French artist’s work presented together. Japanese-Samoan artists Yuki Kihara has created a video work “First Impressions: Paul Gaugin” that will be showed with his work - a contemporary artists who opens a cultural and artistic divide. Until December.

Louisiana Museum of Modern Art Exhibitions

Everyone’s favourite out of town art experience - hop on the train to Louisiana’s beach front location and enjoy this season’s exhibitions and an autumn stroll through their landscaped gardens.

Bouchra Khalili - until November. Moroccan-French multidisciplinary artist Khalili exhibits their large-scale video installation on forced illegal journeys of 8 individuals as they tell their stories of travelling and maps this out.  

Kaari Upson - A retrospective on show until October, this show moves between abstract and people, looking at modern society and the many complex layers - examining American society.

Cisterns in Søndermarken - “Pyschosphere” by artist Jakob Kudsk
Using this underground space this unique exhibition uses video, sound and light to journey beneath the surface of the ocean - immersive, unique, and connecting! On until November.

Adventure Film Festival - N.A.F.F
27th-30th November 2025 (Copenhagen and Aarhus)

This is Scandinavia’s largest adventure film festival, running since 1996, and supporting local Danish filmmakers and upcoming talent to learn from each other through sharing experiences - cinema-based so check out the events here.

Tivoli Gardens Christmas Market
November 2025-4th January 2026

Our favourite place in fall to get in the Christmas mood, Tivoli has a traditional market that opens in November along with spectacular decorations, entertainment, over 60 stalls to buy handicrafts, gifts, accessories, winter treats, and plenty of places for food and drink. It’s atmospheric and great on a sunny day or lit up after dark - your choice! You also have the added bonus of all the usual funfair rides and thrills, but we a festive atmosphere!

J-Day - Tuborg's Jule Beer Party
7th November 2025, 6:00 PM - 2:00 AM

Join us for our epic annual J-Day Party as we celebrate the release of Tuborg's Jule Øl – the official start to Christmas season in Denmark! This is a special occasion known to every Dane as we raise a glass of Tuborg's Christmas Beer and the famous Tuborg Beer truck drives around the streets giving out FREE beer to people in the street.
