August is the time of year when we've enjoyed our summer off and are ready to get busy enjoying the city's many events and bask in the long sunny days and even longer nights! With plenty of events taking place around town from Fashion Week to Food Festivals, it's a great time to visit us! As Northern Europe’s capital of cool, here in Copenhagen there are so many things taking place that it's lucky that there’s more day to fit all the food, fun and fiesta into!

7-10th August

Copenhagen’s is recognised as a leading light in setting global fashion trends, and twice a year, the fashion crowd descend on the city to celebrate the hottest new couture on the planet as Copenhagen Fashion Week arrives.  

If you want to see first-hand what the beautiful crowd will be wearing in the coming year then make a date with the runway 7-10 August.

Be part of the action as fashion fever hit the city- this isn’t just for the jet set anyone who loves fashion can join events, including talks, sales and parties! Be there and be the height of fashion!

Rock out at Friday Rocks! 

Every Friday at Tivoli until 21st September

We all love to party, and who doesn’t like catching the latest and best of world music while taking in a must-see spot on the tourist trail?
 
During the summer, the world-famous Tivoli Gardens gets down to the sounds of live music at Friday Rocks - or Fredagsrock, a series of free (except for the park entrance fee) outdoor evening concerts which run each Friday during the summer until the 21 September. 

Take a chance to join the festivities with a selection of Scandinavian and world acts with bands including Danish hip-hop sensation L.O.C, 80’s legends A-HA, and hot new talent Alex Vargas, to name just a few! Copenhagen in August

Copenhagen Pride

Come along to Copenhagen Pride 2018 and be part of the city’s biggest celebration and most outrageous party! All you need to do is get your wristband for 50DKK to support Pride and enjoy your drinks in Pride Square. And of course get yourself to the parade on Saturday!! 

If you love to party then you won’t want to miss the annual Gay Pride celebration from 14-19th August 2018 in Copenhagen. 

With a programme that includes free concerts, workshops, debates and of course parties, then make sure you get along to Pride 2018 to enjoy a celebration of all things LGTB and also takes a serious look at political and social issues with LGTB rights in Denmark and worldwide. Copenhagen Pride hits a peak with a high-energy parade through some of the city’s coolest areas - this is a highlight for all those celebrating and a great place to join in - in the company of thousands of your newest friends!

Revving up for action at Copenhagen’s Historic Grand Prix 

August 4th-5th

If you’ve always fancied a go at life in the fast lane then make a date with Copenhagen’s Historic Grand Prix race on the August 4 and 5. This established event is a chance to celebrate and see classic motor sport cars taking each other on in a stunning race on a 2.5km track in a specially transformed Bellahøj Park.

This is a weekend given over to all those wannabe rev heads out there. If you tire of the wheel spin, this is a place where you can pick up a motor sport memento, have lunch or simply to admire all those cars straight out of a James Bond movie-after all there will be 50 historic F1 cars on show!

High flying fun


If you love an adrenalin buzz then make sure that you’re harbour side for the Red Bull Cliff Diving on August 25 against the knock-out backdrop of the regal Amalienborg Palace. 

Not only is this a chance to watch some death-defying aerial acrobatics but better still, the action is all taking place at a heady 27 meter in the air from the roof of the famed architectural landmark of the Opera House! Over ten days, 24 August- 2 September, you get your teeth around some the best Scandinavian food on the planet with 100 food related events taking place. What to do in August in Copenhagen


Visit Langelinie Park


Langelinie Park is a local treat and a great place to chill out, have a picnic, walk among the flowers and trees, and check out the locals! There are also numerous monuments here and the pier and promenade stretch down to the Little Mermaid statue. It's a great strolling area and has interesting waterfront views, so enjoy this idyllic walkway!

So make sure you don’t miss out on a city that’s so buzzing with fun and activity this August!
