Copenhagen Pride Week 2025 this Summer!
An inclusive Celebration of Love and Human Rights

If you're visiting Copenhagen this summer for Pride Week 2025 then prepare yourself for the biggest free Pride event in Scandinavia! For almost 30 years Copenhagen Pride has been firmly on the map as a bold celebration of love, community, and human rights. Run by volunteers and as the hosts of WorldPride 2021 and EuroPride 1996, Copenhagen Pride Week is one of the biggest celebrations of the year, and has grown into a powerful platform for LGBTQIA+ visibility, equality, and activism.
For 2025 Pride Week runs from Saturday, August 9 to Sunday, August 17. One of the city's greatest and most show-stopping events, the Copenhagen Pride Parade returns on Saturday, August 16 at 1pm, drawing over 250,000 people to the streets in a bold and colorful celebration of LGBTQIA+ pride and human rights.
This is the city’s biggest and boldest celebration of LGBTQIA+ community and sends a clear message on equality and love. But pride is also about activism. This year’s theme is a message on equality - “Same For Everyone.” And that means promoting human rights through talks, workshops and activities, as well as having a lot of fun at the parties and parades. 
A Party With a Purpose!
Over nine days, the city transforms into a rainbow-coloured party place, and safe space, filled with over 100 free events. From art exhibitions and film screenings to panel discussions and live performances, there's something for everyone. The festivities culminate on Saturday, August 16, with the iconic Pride Parade, a colorful demonstration for acceptance and rights for all LGBTQIA+ individuals.
Not Just Glitter and Parades!
We have plenty of both of those! But Copenhagen Pride isn’t just about the show and the fun, it is a celebration that raises awareness and promotes inclusivity. It’s a massive, city-wide experience that combines community, culture, politics, celebration, and solidarity. And it's all centered around one thing: the right to live, love, and express freely – no matter who you are.
The organisation is independent and focuses on creating safe spaces and promoting inclusion through a variety of cultural and community-driven events. Their vision is clear, and especially through their theme for this year “Same for Everyone”: to create a world where everyone can love and live freely and in safety.
Where It Happens: Pride Square
From August 8 to August 16, City Hall Square (Rådhuspladsen) becomes Pride Square for the week - the heart of the festival. Expect FREE live music, drag shows (including the iconic Drag Night!!), workshops, debates, the Big Queer Flea Market, children’s activities, sports, food trucks, and loads more. As with the theme of Pride, it is all open to everyone, public access, and ticket-free.
The Main Event: Pride Parade
The biggest and most fabulous event (and definitely the one that sees the most rainbow flag action) is the Copenhagen Pride Parade - starting Saturday, August 16 at 13:00 – when the Parade marches from Frederiksberg City Hall to Pride Square (AKA City Hall Square). With over 250,000 people expected to show up, it’s a colourful and crazy visual feast, but also a powerful moment of visibility, protest, and love. There are of course epic afterparties and spontaneous street parties all night long, especially around Studiestræde and Lavendelstræde. You cannot miss the most flamboyant party in town!
Events & Experiences
The full program drops on Monday, July 21 2025, but you can already catch a glimpse of what’s to come through early teasers and Pride: Out Loud! events in June. Throughout August, expect everything from inclusive church services to queer walking tours, art exhibits, sexual health quizzes, drag bingo, and Copenhagen’s legendary cAnal Tours. Community partners and cultural institutions bring the city alive with creativity and activism. There is something for everyone! Check the programme to get involved here.
