Hit the beach


Not every city can boast a 5km beach but Copenhagen is spoilt with Amager Beach Park. This artificial sandy beach is easily accessed by Metro and is the perfect spot to bathe, picnic and generally kick back with the locals.
If you want to make the very most of the summer then join the sunshine vibe and make a date with an ice cream on the city's glorious beach. This spot is also popular for concerts and activities so find out more here




Copenhagen Classico
If you love to cycle as much as the Danes then why not hop into a vintage costume and jump into the saddle for the Copenhagen Classico (18 June, 11am start). Not only is there a break for tea, but the second break is for champagne! That's our kind of day out. This is not your typical bike race with 300 riders taking part in the 2 hour race in full costume and together for fun! Copenhagen Carnival

Do you love to move your hips? Then prepare to get excited as the Copenhagen Carnival approaches. This annual event (3-4 June) is the perfect excuse to get out into the city's streets and dance. Make sure you don't miss the grand parade (3 June) that launches the festivities!

If drama's your things then prepare to be spoilt with CPH Stage (31 May-11 June) this festival of theatre has something for every aspiring Mads Mikkelsen! Get up to speed with Danish talent and catch a performance, many of which are in English. For more information check here



SommerKlassisk

If you like to get orchestral then don't miss out on SommerKlassisk. This is a series of 39 summer classical music concerts held at the world-famous Tivoli Gardens for the classical music fan or novice alike. Why not try its Midsummer concert, an open air concert with Copenhagen Philharmonic or even The Hunt for 007, An Evening with James Bond?
