Music, dancing, great people and new friends. What's not to love about Copenhagen Carpark Festival this 27-28th July!! This is one funky and alternative place to get your groove on and meet some locals! With a whole line up of cool bands and DJs, it promises to be a weekend to remember. Think Danish rock, ping-pong, open air films and some big hip hop beats!

What's happening?
The festival is over two days and is designed to bring people together in urban spaces to engage in cultural events and enjoy the music. There are two stages and over 20 artists performing. The music is Danish and mostly rock, pop and hip hop, with acts such as Rest in Beats, Mund De Carlo and Jaevre playing. The festival is also in association with Distortion festival - the summer street party favourite - so there are some similar elements to Distortion's street party celebrations. There should be a chilled vibe with ping-pong and sofas for those not on the dance floor. There is also Carpark Movie Nights where six open-air films will be shown - expect food, music and some reviews.
Why in a Carpark? The vision behind it
The idea behind it all is that urban spaces can be used to bring people together from different cultures and create a space where they can enjoy music and cultural events and be part of something. The association has been going wince 2014 and is run by a volunteer festival team and creates a non-profit free festival for people to enjoy. The music celebrates Danish acts and the vision is that it will create innovative cultural programmes that bring people together. The idea is anyone can become involved in their local urban space and establish communities and engage in their events. This begins with music and culture!
Programme for the Festival
Music acts and DJs include Sharon Stone, Peers, Farveblind, LOLA, Elias Egujja, Alcabean, and many more! The roots of the festival are Danish rock, pop and hip hop so expect an interesting line up of local talent!
