Not only is it the best hostel to book your bed in this city - if you want to be centrally located in the best part of town - it’s also worth visiting to just enjoy the travel friendly bar and chill out area. St Christopher’s Inn, Paris

Stylish and shiny new, St Christopher’s Inn at Gard du Nord is the perfect mix of a lively and fun place to stay with all the quality amenities you would need. They have of course got a friendly bar and restaurant with travellers from around the world meeting and hanging out (especially at happy hour and when the jaeger train arrives..). It’s also a great location to get about the City of Lights and enjoy the sights with their new station location at Gard du Nord and the original St Christopher’s Inn Canal nearby on the waterfront. Both locations offer the same excellent facilities, top security, maximum fun, friendly staff and great value! Find out more about the Paris hostels here

The Bauhaus Bar!

The Bauhaus, Bruges

This beautiful city is the perfect place to bike, boat or stroll through the medieval street and canals, and the best place to stay is at the centrally located Bauhaus. This hostel has super comfy rooms, curtained bunks and lovely private rooms and apartments. With a chilled atmosphere and plenty of places to relax and unwind, it’s the perfect place to stop by at the end of a hard day sightseeing. The bar is laden with molten wax dripping from the candles and a clock that goes backwards - the perfect place to sample one of their zillion choices of Belgium beers (watch the strong ones) and get cosy in the wooden booths. With a feeling of stepping back in time, this place is always lively, and serves great food too. Check it out here

St Christopher’s Inn, Barcelona

This place is slap bang next to the main city square with a huge lively bar (showing all the local Barca footy matches and offering great happy hours) and a spacious chill out area. The rooms are immaculate and there are even privates with roof terraces. The design is made to feel like you’re in the vibrant city with plenty of colour and light, as well as feeling cosy - we love the massage chairs and pool tables! This place also does paella nights on the terrace from their own friendly chef- yum. If you enjoy the vida loca then check out Barcelona and stay at this awesome hostel. See the hostel here

Czech Inn Prague

Prague may have seen a lot or tourism in recent years but it still retains it’s old world charm and its worthy title of the Golden City (watch the sunset over the river to see the old town bathed in gold light...). Prague is also home to cheap delicious beer, the Velvet Revolution, lots of meat and dumplings and our favourite hostel - Czech Inn. At first you may think you’ve accidentally checked into a hotel as the swish design and slick rooms are second to none, but check out the friendly basement bar and you’ll know your in a hostel! Plenty of travellers enjoy happy hour here and making new friends, along with the chill out room upstairs which is the perfect place to rest after walking up to the castle and back. There are amazing private rooms and apartments available here along with spacious shared rooms. We love the designer feel and traditional bar! Check it out here

NosDa, Cardiff

We love Cardiff’s old town feel with it’s lively bar scene. You can visit the castle and beaches in the daytime then hit the town at night. The best hostel in town is NosDa, located right on the waterfront by the stadium. They’ve got spotless rooms, super friendly staff and a great terrace to have a beer on. Ask what’s on nearby and you’re bound to have a great night! Book your bed here.

St Christopher’s Inn, Edinburgh

If you’re looking for a highland fling then get yourself up to lovely Edinburgh - home to the haunted castle, all-night lively pubs, the best comedy festival in the world, and the gateway to the Scottish Highlands. Right opposite the station is the fun and friendly St Christopher’s Inn hostel - a short walk from the winding streets up to the castle. The bar here serves delicious food and it’s a great place to taste some local whisky and meet fellow backpackers. Check out the pictures here
